We moved from Texas so we knew basically nothing about life in California and local house market. We were going blindly to open houses to get into it, still without an agent, and at one high end open house we met Nicolas, owner of Jonville team. He was so kind to us that we decided to go with his team – we got Brooke Murdock as our agent. From the very beginning she carefully listened to our little weird “MUST-have”. Not like other agents pushing some standard “what all people love”. She understood what we wanted and never pushed us even though we were house hunting for many months. I appreciate that she was always there when we needed. For showings and later when we put an offer and the marathon full of stress began. We were in the buying process over the Thanksgiving and upcoming Christmas. Nobody was working that hard during the holidays, but she was always there to push other sides to get things done for us and contributed to solutions we weren’t able to get (problems with our slow lender etc.). Also, we were afraid of house work, not knowing anyone here, no friends who would recommend good house work contractors. We had multiple recommendations from Brooke and so far we received excellent work from these businesses. From the moment I met Brooke, I was bowled over with her ease-of-manner, knowledge, and helpfulness. I was perusing real estate flyers in front of the Jonville Team office and she came out to see if she could assist me. A while later, when I was serious about purchasing through a 1031 exchange, I called Brooke. During an extremely competitive market in 2022 in which buyers were outbidding each other, Brooke helped me secure and close escrow on TWO properties. She proved to be diligent, forthright, honest, and knowledgeable. She didn’t give up. She pursued listings so that I met my buying timeline. Recently, on another 1031 exchange, we sold one of those properties. During the sale and closing, Brooke demonstrated finesse, creativity, and the ability to work seamlessly with sellers, the HOA, the buyer’s agent, a specialty contractor, and escrow. In fact, when I told my escrow officer how very good Brooke was, she stated that she already knew because she had purchased through Brooke and was closing on her property the next day.
